Getting startet

The best way to find out whether you like gliding, is by having an introduction flight, which is part of the trial membership. During an introduction flight you are placed at the front seat of one of our two-seaters, with an instructor behind. He is able to take full control of the flight anytime, as the sticks in the front and back seats are interconnected. He will launch the plane safely into the air, and will fly it during the landing phase. In between you will have ample space to test your skills.

Do you want to try flying?

Eager for a test flight, a trial membership including the first 5 flights costs 400 DDK. Signing up is done by filling out this form. You can also write us an email at pfg@nullpfg.dk, or use our facebook page If you want to continue after the trial membership has expired, you must join the club as a regular member. Membership prices, can be found here: Prices

The education

The season

We fly every weekend from the end of March until end of October. Rain, stormy weather, and a low cloud base, although, means no flying.

Airfield and transportation

We fly from Kalundborg Airfield.

The street adress of the yellow PFG clubhouse at the airfield is : Eskebjergvej 88B, Kaldred, 4593 Eskebjerg.

If you are delayed beyond scheduled meeting time, please call us on the clubhouse phone at (+45) 59291432.

It is quite a distance from Copenhagen, but it is usually possible to hitch a lift with another member of the club. It is customary to offer the driver a 30 DKK contribution to his gas bill.

Briefing

At 9:30 in the morning we always organize a briefing session at the clubhouse. Participation in the briefing is a good idea for several reasons:

  • To enable the instructor an overview of whom he will have to fly with.
  • Providing you important information e.g. the weather forecast.
  • Giving you a mandatory safety briefing about how to behave within the airfield perimeter.
  • So you get a proper idea of what happens during a day at the airfield.

You will fly when it fits into the activities of the day, and we cannot promise that you will have takeoff at a given time. You should therefore be prepared to spend the entire day at the airfield and around the clubhouse.

Meals

It is recommended you bring your own lunch. The nearest grocery shop is approx 3 km. away. Close to the airfield, although, there is a café selling burgers and ice cream. Every saturday evening our very own clubhouse chefs cook a delicious dinner. You are coordially invited to join. The dinner is usually charged at around 50 DKK.

Garment

Since it is often cold and windy, as the airfield is open space, dress rationally (nothing is fun while freezing). Since the grass often is quite wet, boots are usually a much wiser choice than sneakers. On sunny days remember sunscreen and a hat. Sunglasses are always a good idea as the sky and clouds are bright, and contours are more easily recognised when wearing non-polarized sun glasses.

Payment

It is possible to pay using the “MobilePay” app on your smartphone, - or simply bring Cash. No credit Cards please.
